Party time
UggggHHH!!! A large zit is forming on top of my nose (>.<)
It's got to be to do with eating too many chocolate truffles at Fei's launch party on last Thursday...
Those colourful & tasty concoctions were supplied by Fei's friend Jerome.
His restaurant L'Etranger on Gloucester Road produces amazing culinary delights.
Mmmmm... His macaroons were divine. The slab of black slate was a perfect backrop for the vibrant hue of macaroons.
The forecast for the day was rather pessimistic.
However, the weather recovered towards the evening as our prayer was answered by the heaven!
Letizia's eclectic yet elegant collection is adored by her loyal customers who want more than just labels.
Being a Sicilian, Letizia's taste is irrespressibly full of vibe and energy.
Like this dress, for example.
Also, this dress has two detachable collars. That means it can be worn in three ways. How clever is that?
Fei's sunglasses received an undivided attention from the customer. Her beautifully handcrafted shades are work of art. They are not those injection-moulded plastic pairs. Fei's frames are made with vintage acetate which she sources from Italy.
Sipping champagne, we ogled and tried on her shades...
Around 10pm, we decided to call it a day.
Rather tired yet still glamorous Letizia & Fei...
And Letizia & me in a suit by the Kooples...

Stop that rain
Oh dear, it's coming down out there.
In these days, the rain is never far way.
It is a shame that my friend is launching her new sunglasses collection in Notting Hill.
Let's hope diehard fashionistas won't be discouraged by the rain...

The battle of will
Mr.B is on hunger strike.
He hasn't eaten since yesterday morning.
I think he must be very hungry by now.
Still, he is holding out...
He refuses to eat his dog food unless we hand feed him.
This silly tea time ritual has started ever since I left my hubbie to look after Mr.B during my absence last year. Mr.B is an annoyingly fussy eater. When my poor hubbie couldn't tempt him to eat in a proper doggie way (eating from a bowl by himself), he resorted to hand feed him. When I came home and realised what they had done, my hubbie's excuse was 'I thought he is gonna starve himself'. Well, I don't think any dog will starve him/herself intentionally.
Then a few days ago, he has developed another habit. Now, he needs us to assist when he is thursty! He demands us to hold a bowl while he drinks water. This is a definite game changer. This nonsense has to finish for once and for all.
First of all, hand feeding is stopped. When he is dancing around his food bowl (his way of getting my attention), I ignore him completely. He stares at me with a doleful expression. It is really hard that my beloved Mr.B looks so sad and depressed. However, I can not allow him to escalate his attention seeking antics any further. It is not right for both of us. Therefore, I shall steel myself and stick to my resolution until I see the change in his behaviour...

Maison Bertaux on Greek Street
The dessert menu at Aurora didn't have enough appeal. So, we wandered around the streets of Soho, looking for a table for tea & cake.
Eventually, we settled in Maison Bertaux behind the Palace Theatre.
The window by our table was over looking the famous Soho House.
A string of the Union Jacks was gently flappig about in the breeze. I could hear quiet chatters in the background. The moment like this, I always feel really content about me living in London.
Voila, my fruit eclair. I pondered for a while at the display, montblanc or eclair. In the end, I went for eclair. From the photo, it may be a bit difficut to suss out the size of the cake. I tell you that the serving was really generous. My eclair was brimming with fruits & cream. Mmmmm... Just heaven...
Our cakes came with a very strong pot of tea.
Without pomp or flair, that is their style.
The time Maison Bertaux offers is just priceless.
God save the Maison Bertaux!

Bauhaus @ Barbican
On Saturday, my hubbie & I went to the Bauhaus exhibition at Barbican Centre.
We just love Barbican. It's so civilised.
Especially my hubbie, he loves the complex so much. Time to time, he suggests if we should buy one of their flats. Mmmm... I am not so sure if I like here that much, sweet heart...
Anyway, this is the purpose of our visit. "Bauhaus - Art as life".
How did I find the exhibition? Oh well, it wasn't too bad. However, the exhibits were far too many and some of them were just not worthy enough.
Another joy of visiting Barbican is their Food Hall.
The cakes on offer were sooooo tempting. It was gut-wrenching to choose just one!
I picked a slice of walnut & coffee cake. Give me any cake with walnut or pecan anyday, I will be in heaven. Only complain was that there wasn't enough coffee flavour in the sponge...
